I mentioned in a previous blog that I have been doing more sewing than writing. Here are photos of a few projects made for and worn this summer.
Before making these pieces, a friend and I decided to make duct-tape-dress forms to help us when fitting our garments. This was an adventure! The dress form has been a helpful tool for when no one else is around to fit or to measure for a hem length.
The first two clothing pieces were inspired to make for two summer outdoor weddings. The third piece was needed for the hot weather places I was visiting this summer.

Duct-tape-dress form adorned with a loden green silk charmeuse, one-inch strap empire waist, A-line dress. Over this is the fuchsia and loden green, cross-dye silk organza duster/coat with loden green chenille floral embroidery design. A cloche straw hat with trim of matching colors of a silk dupioni band, silk tulle and chenille flower finishes the outfit thanks to Wayne Wichern Millinery. Green color of dress is truer in the next photo.

A white background floral print, cotton jacquard, fit and flare, cap-sleeve dress with pockets made from my dress slopper. The multi-pink roses and multi-green leaves cluster at the waist line and disperse to fewer roses showing white background at the top and bottom of the dress.
A bias cut linen dress of white and light to dark aqua scribble print, with bias binding armholes and scoop neck-line including high-low hem with pockets.
